The National Assembly of Armenia has adopted the draft law on reducing the compulsory military service period by 6 months in the second reading.
"Qafqazinfo" reports that "Armenpress" has released this information.
According to the information, the draft law was adopted with 65 votes in favor, 4 against, and 20 abstentions.
Thus, starting from January 1, 2026, the duration of compulsory military service in Armenia will be 1.5 years (18 months) instead of 2 years (24 months).
The reduction in the service period will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
