Designers warn: Stay away from these 6 curtain styles

Curtains are one of the most important elements that complete the spirit of a room. A wrong choice can make the room look both narrow and dark.

Milli.Az reports that professional designers have identified 6 curtain styles that are outdated and make your home look "cheap":

Overly heavy and layered curtains (Lambrequins)
Multi-layered, heavy fabric and pleated curtains reflecting the luxury concept of the 90s are now a thing of the past. This style suffocates the room and makes the ceiling look lower. Simplicity is prioritized in modern design.

Bright satin and synthetic fabrics
Overly shiny, cheap-looking synthetic fabrics spoil the entire elegance of the house. These materials create an artificial glow when light hits them, adding a cold atmosphere to the room. Designers recommend giving preference to fabrics with a natural look such as linen or cotton.

Very small and short curtains
Having the curtain end on the windowsill is one of the biggest design mistakes. Short curtains visually break the window and the height of the room. Ideally, the curtain should be hung as close to the ceiling as possible and extend down to the floor.

Large and eye-straining patterns
Huge flowers, complex geometric patterns, or colorful ornaments compete with other furniture in the room. This creates visual chaos. If you want patterns, opt for finer ones in neutral tones.

Metal ring (Lüvers) curtains
Once very popular, metal ring curtains are now considered "old-fashioned" in modern interiors. They mostly remind one of temporary or cheap hotel rooms. Pleats made with hidden curtain rods or curtain tapes create a more professional look.

Wrong color choice: Same color as the wall
A curtain that is exactly the same shade as the wall makes the room monotonous and uninteresting. Curtains should be a few shades darker or lighter than the wall color to add depth to the space.

When choosing curtains, remember the principle "less is more." Neutral colors, naturally textured fabrics, and simple cuts extending from ceiling to floor will always make your home look more expensive and tasteful.
