"Allergic reaction to cold rarely occurs without cause."
Oxu.Az reports that this was stated by doctor Aleksandr Umnov to the Russian press.
According to the doctor, allergic reactions to cold can arise as a result of chronic upper respiratory tract and intestinal diseases, disorders of microcirculation, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, as well as uncontrolled intake of immunostimulants.
Risk factors also increase in individuals who have close relatives suffering from bronchial asthma and in people who work in cold environments for a long time.
Symptoms usually appear on exposed skin areas – face, ears, and hands. Redness, swelling, and itching are observed on the skin. Itching can cause peeling and inflammation, which further aggravates the condition.
