Bees are dying in large numbers in Saatly...
According to Milli.Az citing Khazar TV, beekeepers report that more than half of the bee colonies have been destroyed.
According to them, off-season egg laying has led to the spread of varroatosis disease and the destruction of bee brood:
Beekeepers note that there is reserve feed for winter in the frames at present. However, the weakening of the colonies raises questions about their survival through the winter. According to them, the way out of the situation is the isolation of the bee colonies and timely measures against varroa mites.
According to information from the Saatly District State Agrarian Development Center, there are a total of 1233 bee colonies in the district. During the season, on average, 15-20 kilograms of honey are produced from each bee colony. Currently, the spread of bee diseases, especially varroatosis, is observed in bee farms. The center reported that measures to combat varroatosis are currently ongoing.
