In January-February of this year, 337.3 thousand foreign citizens from 163 countries around the world visited Azerbaijan, which is 0.4% less compared to the same period last year.

Among the visitors, 23.2% were from the Russian Federation, 21.1% from Turkey, 9.0% from Iran, 5.0% from Georgia, 4.6% from India, 3.7% from Pakistan, 3.6% from Kazakhstan, 3.2% from Saudi Arabia, 2.9% from Uzbekistan, 2.6% from Israel, 2.0% from China, 1.4% each from Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Ukraine, 1.3% each from the United Kingdom and Turkmenistan, and 12.3% were citizens of other countries. Among the visitors, 72.0% were men and 28.0% were women.
Compared to January-February 2025, the number of visitors from European Union member countries increased by 26.4% to 13.9 thousand people, from CIS countries increased by 3.4% to 111.1 thousand people, from Gulf countries decreased by 10.9% to 55.3 thousand people, and from other countries decreased by 0.7% to 157.0 thousand people.
Among the foreign nationals and stateless persons arriving in our country, 70.2% used air transportation, 28.4% used railway and automobile transport, and 1.4% used sea transport.
Compared to January-February 2025, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad increased by 0.8% to 298.7 thousand people. Of our citizens, 37.4% went to Turkey (2.1% more compared to January-February of the previous year), 15.2% to the Russian Federation (2.8% less), 12.5% to Iran (17.7% more), 9.9% to Georgia (12.2% less), and 25.0% to other countries (0.1% less). Among those leaving, 66.7% were men and 33.3% were women.
In January-February 2026, 68.0% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transportation, 30.4% used railway and automobile transport, and 1.6% used sea transportation.
