The businessman appearing before the judge in the criminal case opened regarding illegal betting advertisement, Sadettin Saran, president of the "Fenerbahçe" football club, stated in court that his monthly income is 5 million Turkish liras.
“Qafqazinfo” reports that during the hearing held at the Istanbul Court, answering a question about his income, Saran noted that he obtained this amount as a result of business activities he established over many years.
“I am the child of a civil servant and have built this company with my own effort over 30 years. We do not promote illegal betting games,” he said.
It should be noted that Sadettin Saran is being prosecuted on charges of illegal betting advertisements broadcast during football matches on the "S Sport" internet streaming platform. The case was opened following an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau.
This is the second time Saran has appeared before the judge in this case. He had previously given a statement on December 26, 2024.
The prosecution has demanded 1 to 3 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 3000 days for Sadettin Saran. The indictment has been submitted to the first-instance criminal court for trial.
