The Washington administration believes that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may take place soon.
AZERTAC reports that this information was released by the "Axios" portal citing the spokesperson of the US President Donald Trump administration.
The source told "Axios" that "we are very close to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky." He added that additional trilateral talks are necessary before that.
"We believe we are not far from this. If we continue on our current course, we will achieve our goal," said the US administration representative.
According to the portal, the American administration considers the trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi between representatives of Russia, the US, and Ukraine to have gone "as well as Washington could imagine."
