The "WhatsApp" messenger in Russia may be blocked once and for all this year.
Publika.az reports, citing TASS, that this opinion was expressed by Andrey Svintsov, deputy chairman of the State Duma's Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications.
According to the politician, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media in Russia ("Roskomnadzor") will implement a series of measures to permanently block the application by the end of the year.
