In 2015, the expenditure allocated to education amounted to 1 billion 711 million manats, which increased to 4 billion 937 million 283 thousand manats by 2025, nearly tripling and approaching 5 billion. Overall, from 2015 to 2025, a total of 33 billion 961 million 974 thousand manats was allocated to education from the state budget.
So, what were these amounts spent on?
According to Milli.Az, economist expert Eldəniz Əmirov shared his views on the matter, stating that this large sum was directed towards increasing teachers' salaries, maintaining schools and universities, constructing and extensively repairing new educational institutions, preparing textbooks, and purchasing laboratory and technological equipment:
"At the same time, these expenses also include the organization of certification exams and the consequent increase in teachers' salaries. In other words, the allocated funds are not only for maintaining existing educational institutions but also for enhancing teachers' professionalism, implementing new methods, and improving the quality of teaching. However, whether the set goals are achieved to what extent should now be answered by the professionals in this field."
The expert noted that education is a strategic foundation not only for individual development but also for the economic strength of the state.
