"The system is terrible, we have been standing in line until 4 at night" - VIDEO

After the decision to limit taxi operations with passenger cars in Baku, drivers have flocked to the Baku International Bus Station. This has resulted in long queues at the bus station during the technical inspection examination for obtaining a permit.

"Qafqazinfo" reports that drivers have stated in their explanations to ATV that despite waiting in line until morning due to the slow process, they were unable to use the service.

"There are 500-600 people in line, we waited until around 4-5 a.m. Only 20 people are registered per day. December 31 is also the last day. I have been coming for almost a week every day," one of the citizens said.

The Baku International Bus Station Complex stated regarding the issue that the drivers flocking here come for technical inspection examinations: "In the past week, there has been a sharp increase in applications for obtaining permits for passenger transportation in taxi passenger cars. Within the procedural rules, efforts are made to handle as many applications as possible during the day. One of the main reasons for the queue is the narcological test examination. This examination is not only mandatory at the Baku International Bus Station Complex area. It is possible to undergo narcological tests in any relevant department of medical institutions in the capital."

From the Azerbaijan Surface Transport Agency (AYNA), it was noted that the technical inspection examination is not limited to the bus station: "Legal entities or individual entrepreneurs can sign a contract with registered technical repair areas regarding pre-trip technical inspection as appropriate."
