One of the main reasons is that users simultaneously play the role of workers training artificial intelligence. For AI to be refined and approach human-like thinking, millions and billions of human interactions are needed. If separate workers were hired for this task, the costs would be very high. Therefore, the system is offered for free to obtain data and corrections in any volume.
The second and more dangerous goal is to create irreversible dependency. History is full of similar examples. The spread of calculators weakened mental calculation. GPS technology reduced people’s ability to find directions. Now artificial intelligence threatens reasoning and independent thinking skills.
It is warned that if this process continues uncontrolled, in a few years people may entrust everything to AI, from writing simple emails to making decisions. A person who loses the ability to think independently can neither criticize, protest, nor think outside the system.
Another noteworthy point is the sacralization of information. Previously, several hours of research were conducted to verify the truth of a news item. Today, many simply ask AI and accept the answer as an undisputed fact. This process is characterized by some experts as "the domestication of humans."
Being the first in the digital economy is important to fully capture the market before competitors form and before governments impose strict laws.
