Azerbaijani citizens who committed murder in Moscow - Shahin Abbasov was sentenced to 17 years, and his brother Shohrat was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment.
Oxu.az reports that the Moscow City Court has issued a ruling regarding this.
According to the information, both Azerbaijanis will serve their sentences in a high-security penal institution.
At the same time, their other brother, Isakhan Abbasov, was sentenced to 8 years in prison, accused of concealing the crime and accepting a bribe.
The remaining accused have served their sentences during their detention in the investigation prison and were released from custody in the courtroom. The court also acquitted Shahin Abbasov’s father, Nizam Abbasov.
It should be recalled that the incident took place on April 17, 2024. According to the investigation, Shahin Abbasov stopped his vehicle on the sidewalk near the building entrance. This angered 24-year-old local resident Kirill Kovalyov, who scolded the driver.
Shahin Abbasov and his brother Shohrat stabbed Kovalyov several times, and he died in the hospital from the injuries sustained.
According to the investigators, after the incident, the brothers went to the Rostov region with the help of their father and other relatives, where they committed several more crimes.
