Azerbaijan's judo team has increased its number of medals to seven at the European Championship.

On the second day of the European Junior Judo Championship held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, the Azerbaijani team increased their medal count to seven.

According to Milli.Az, Sadiq Mammadov (-73 kg) advanced successfully to the final. Our judoka was awarded the silver medal of the European Championship after losing to Bulgarian representative Ivan Nikolchev in the decisive match.

Ilkin Garayev (-66 kg) won the bronze medal by defeating Czech opponent Hinek Svets in the match for third place.

Recall that on the first day of the competition, our team members Zahra Guliyeva (-40 kg), Nihad Agayev (-50 kg) won gold, Farid Rzazade (-50 kg) silver, and Ibrahim Talibov (-55 kg) and Konul Eyvazli (-48 kg) took bronze medals.
