Aziz Alibeyli, the head of the Media and Communication Department of the Center for Social Research, answering the question of Medianews.az, stated that it is already known to everyone that a criminal case has been initiated against Ramiz Mehdiyev on charges of treason against the state and other accusations: “Let us consider that investigative actions are currently underway. It is not advisable to extensively disseminate information that could harm the investigation. Some accused and responsible individuals may still be active or even in office. The exposure of the network requires time and detailed investigation of all details. When we approach the process in this way, we can see the necessities arising from the current situation.”
Let us recall that on October 14, news spread in the country's media stating that Ramiz Mehdiyev was accused of serious crimes (attempt to forcibly seize power, treason against the state, and legalization of a significant amount of property obtained through crime). It was announced that the investigation is being conducted by the State Security Service, and the Sabail District Court chose house arrest for Ramiz Mehdiyev for a period of 4 months. On October 18, information was also published in the media about Ramiz Mehdiyev’s removal from the membership of the Security Council.
