The detention period of Mütvalı Şıxlınski was extended, his charge was aggravated

The Yekaterinburg court in Russia has extended the detention period of Mutvaly Shykhlinski, the son of Shahin Shykhlinski, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the city, until December 14.

Musavat.com reports, citing the Russian press, that the prosecution has changed the article under which he is accused to a more severe one.

It should be noted that M. Shykhlinski was accused under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code, but now Part 2 of the same article has been applied to him.

M. Shykhlinski was detained on charges of showing violence against a "government official" during the unlawful and violent arrest of his father by Russian law enforcement agencies. This is considered by official Baku as part of the illegal pressure policy against the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia.
