In Moldova, the ruling Action and Solidarity Party intends to nominate businessman Alexandru Muntyanu for the post of prime minister.

Born in 1964, Alexandru Muntyanu is a physicist known for his business activities in the investment sector.
The results of the parliamentary election held on September 28 are being reviewed by the Constitutional Court. After the election results are confirmed, the first meeting of parliament must be held, and the formation of the government should begin.
The Central Election Commission declared that the Action and Solidarity Party, associated with President Maia Sandu, obtained 55 seats in the 101-seat parliament, the Patriotic Bloc 26, the Alternative Bloc 8, Our Party 6, and the Party of Democracy at Home 6 mandates.
In the country, the government is formed by the party that holds more than half of the seats in the legislative body. Since February 16, 2023, Dorin Recean, supported by the Action and Solidarity Party, has been prime minister. He does not want to remain in his position.
The Action and Solidarity Party supports Moldova's close integration with the West. Maia Sandu was elected president in the nationwide elections of 2020 and 2024.
