U.S. Secretary of State reminded Armenia of the benefits of peace with Azerbaijan

U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio spoke about the significance of the historic summit between President Donald Trump and Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"Report" reports that Rubio's remarks were included in a congratulatory statement to Armenia on the occasion of Independence Day.

He stated that the Washington summit is important in terms of regional cooperation. Rubio also recalled the $145 million allocated to Armenia for the implementation of the TRIPP route, emphasizing that this underscores the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

The U.S. Secretary of State further stated that if Armenia continues to contribute to peace, his country will continue to support it.

It should be recalled that on August 8, in Washington, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a Joint Declaration consisting of 7 points, with the participation of the U.S. President. One of the points of the document concerns the launching of the Zangezur corridor ("Trump route") within the framework of opening regional communications.

In addition, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialed the text of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia."
