Azerbaijani athletes have achieved another success at the Grand Prix judo tournament held in Qingdao, China.
Medianews.az reports that on the next day of the competition, two more Azerbaijani judokas managed to stand on the podium.
Our athlete competing in the 81 kg weight category, Zelim Tchkayev, defeated all his opponents and won the gold medal. Our Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov, competing in the same weight category, finished the competition with a bronze medal.
It should be noted that on the first day of the tournament, another judoka of ours, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg), also managed to add a bronze medal to our team's tally.
Let us remind that H. Heydarov had been criticized by the sports community in recent years for missing some tournaments due to weight issues. Our judoka, who won a bronze medal in the new weight category, responded to the criticisms on his social media account. He shared a photo on the podium with the caption "I am on the podium again, love you very much."
