Within the framework of the extensive meeting held yesterday between President Ilham Aliyev and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, two important documents were also signed in the field of technologies:
1. Memorandum of Understanding to increase the use of artificial intelligence in education between the Ministry of Science and Education and the “Presight” company;
2. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028 between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the “Presight” company.
Regarding the matter, Osman Gündüz, head of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum and director of the Multimedia Center, said in an interview with Medianews.az that the heads of both ministries - Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrulaev and Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev - had previously met with Tomas Pramotedham, CEO of “Presight” in the UAE: “The Ministry of Science and Education has been seriously interested in AI-based technological solutions for some time now. Some time ago, the ministry discussed the idea of creating a Large Language Model adapted for education - the EduAzGPT model - together with Microsoft’s regional team in Dubai.
The main purpose underlying all this is to apply AI solutions on the “Digital School” platform to provide students with a personalized learning experience, support teachers in lesson planning and assessment, and offer data-driven decision-making opportunities to administrators.
On the other hand, the Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025-2028 sets serious obligations before the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. It appears that the ministry is beginning closer cooperation with the globally recognized “Presight” company to implement these goals.”
O. Gündüz recalled that some time ago, a new contract was also signed between SOCAR and “IntelliGrid,” a joint venture of the UAE’s “Presight AI” and “Esyasoft Holding” companies, within the framework of a 13-year cooperation: “Within the contract framework, the creation of an AI-based Smart Gas Network Management System in Azerbaijan, modernization of the network, and reduction of gas losses and emissions through the application of technologies are foreseen.
Thus, it is evident that the UAE’s “Presight” company, which is globally recognized and well-established in the field of artificial intelligence, will play a significant role in Azerbaijan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
I think these signed documents will play an important role in advancing the artificial intelligence sector, the quality of our education, and also the country’s technological power to a new level.”
