Users emphasize that they cannot access the services provided by Mail.Ru, including the mail service, that the main functions are not fully operational, and that serious problems have arisen in accessing personal accounts.
Mail.ru is one of Russia's largest internet companies. It was founded in 1998. Initially, it mainly operated as an email service. Mail.ru mail has become one of the most popular email services in Russia and other CIS countries.
Over time, the company grew and began offering other services. Mail.ru was for a long time the owner of social networks such as "Odnoklassniki" and "VKontakte".
In the 2010s, the company was named "Mail.ru Group" and was listed on the Moscow stock exchange. In 2021, the company rebranded itself and began operating under the name VK (VKontakte), but many still know it by its old name – Mail.ru.
The company currently owns news, search, weather forecast, games, and other online services. Through "Mail.ru Games," online and computer game distribution is carried out. The company also has messengers and various mobile applications.
