Ramiz Mehdiyev's family exit from the country why was "stop" imposed?

Family members of Ramiz Mehdiyev, who is accused of treason against the state and other especially serious crimes, have also been placed under investigative supervision and their exit from the country has been restricted.

According to information obtained by "Qafqazinfo," this step was taken within the framework of investigations regarding the fact that Ramiz Mehdiyev's relatives also possess significant financial means due to revenues obtained through criminal means.

The "Gray Cardinal" has for many years used his influence within the state structure to control various commercial activities. During that period, apartments, villas, and company shares worth millions of manats were officially registered in the names of his relatives. In recent days, a small part of these assets has also been publicized in the media.

One of the main charges brought against Ramiz Mehdiyev is under Article 193-1.3.2 (legalization of property obtained through criminal means) of the Criminal Code. According to the legislation, assets acquired with dirty money are confiscated in favor of the state by a court decision. Until the verdict, a seizure is placed on the property.

During the current preliminary investigation period, the financial transactions of Mehdiyev’s family members are also being examined. On this basis, the exit from the country of his wife Galina Mehdiyeva, his son—Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Teymur Mehdiyev, his daughter Kamila Aliyeva, and his son-in-law Ilham Aliyev has been "stopped."

This decision aims to prevent any actions related to immovable property located both within the country and abroad (such as sale or registration in another person's name).

At the same time, based on new facts that may emerge, it is possible that members of the Mehdiyev family will also be questioned, which is cited as one of the additional reasons for imposing the "stop" restriction.
