"The development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates is being observed." Economist deputy Vuqar Bayramov said this while commenting to Medianews.az on the official visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Azerbaijan.
V. Bayramov stated that the development of relations between the two countries is clearly reflected in mutual economic turnover as well as in investment placements: "The United Arab Emirates is one of the countries investing in Azerbaijan's green energy sector. Mutual visits serve to deepen economic ties between the countries even further. The UAE is one of Azerbaijan's main partners in the Gulf region."
V. Bayramov noted that the fact that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Fuzuli International Airport also has special significance: "Some had put forward certain opinions regarding the airports being constructed in Karabakh. Now we see that there are direct flights to Karabakh from different countries in the world; even high-level officials can land directly in the Karabakh region when coming to Azerbaijan from abroad. All this once again proves that the airports being built in Karabakh are very important in terms of security, transportation, the development of tourism, and also the organization of international visits. Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity, and the reception of official persons is already being carried out in our liberated lands. Official visits are organized directly to Karabakh from leading countries of the world."
It should be noted that the UAE President arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit on September 16. While welcoming Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Fuzuli International Airport, President Ilham Aliyev briefed him on the Fuzuli, Zangilan, and Lachin International Airports constructed in the territories liberated from occupation.
Later, the Presidents toured the city of Fuzuli by car. While heading to Shusha, the heads of state also took a photo against the backdrop of Dashalty village in the Shusha district.
There was an official welcoming ceremony for the UAE President in Shusha. In the square where the state flags of both countries waved, an honorary guard was lined up in honor of the UAE President. The national anthems of the two states were played. The honorary guard passed before the Presidents to the sounds of a military march. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation were presented to the UAE President, and members of the UAE delegation were presented to the Azerbaijani President.
In Shusha, the Presidents held one-on-one and expanded meetings. Afterwards, a ceremony for the exchange of documents signed between Azerbaijan and the UAE took place with the participation of the Presidents.
