Medianews.az website reports that the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, which envisages an increase in public transport fares, also applies to the Baku-Sumgait (Sumgait-Baku) regular bus routes.

Currently, the fare on the Baku-Sumgait (Sumgait-Baku) regular bus routes is 70 qəpik.

According to the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, starting from October 1, on the Baku-Sumgait (Sumgait-Baku) route, if the fare is paid through a payment device on buses running on compressed gas or electric engine, or diesel engine buses produced after January 1, 2025, the price of one trip will be 80 qəpik.

Medianews.az reports that the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport was made on September 18. The decision was announced to the public on September 29.

According to the decision, from October 1, the fare for the Baku metro will be increased from 50 qəpik to 60 qəpik. At the same time, in the administrative territory of Baku city, the minimum fare for regular city (district) buses, inter-settlement and suburban bus routes that meet modern requirements, i.e., run on electricity or compressed natural gas (CNG), and where fares are paid via cashless payment tools, will be 60 qəpik.

For the routes that do not meet modern requirements, the minimum fare remains at the level of 50 qəpik.
