"Naxtel," the only regional mobile operator in Azerbaijan, located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is ceasing its operations.
On September 1, the institution warned its subscribers about this and announced that "Naxtel" would completely stop telecommunications services by December. Subscribers were advised to apply to other mobile communication operators operating in the country within the next three months, i.e., by that time, to keep their numbers registered under their names and continue benefiting from mobile communication services.
In the country, besides "Naxtel," there are only three mobile communication operators: "Azercell," "Bakcell," and "Nar." The fourth one was "Naxtel," which is now closing down.
Medianews.az reports that "Naxtel" was established in 2015. It is a 4th generation GSM + LTE operator. It has 130 base stations. It covers all settlements of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Fiber optic cable lines were laid between each base station and the Central Control System, and equipment capable of transmitting 1GB of information per second was installed.
Medianews.az notes that the decision to close "Naxtel" was announced to subscribers one month after a new director was appointed to the company.

The new director of "Naxtel" was appointed on August 1 of this year. According to the decision of the company's Board of Directors, this position is held by Isa Isayev.
Born in 1983, Isa Bunyad oglu Isayev was born in the village of Cherchiboğan in the Sharur district. He is a graduate of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and has worked in various positions at the Nakhchivan branch of "Agrarkredit" Joint Stock Commercial Organization, the Main Directorate of "Kapitalbank" in Nakhchivan, "Nakhchivanbank" OJSC, and later in the non-bank credit organization "E-Kredit," which was created by changing the name and organizational-legal form of this institution. From 2020 to 2024, he was a deputy of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan.
