U.S. President Donald Trump watched the baseball game at the "Yankees" stadium in New York from behind bulletproof glass.
Medianews.az, citing U.S. media, reports that security measures at the stadium were intensified before Trump arrived at the match. Bulletproof glass was installed all around the box where the president was seated.
The "Wall Street Journal" writes that the strengthening of security measures is related to the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in the U.S. According to the newspaper, after the assassination attempt on Kirk, it was decided to increase Trump's security at public events. During the memorial ceremony held on the anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York on September 11, 2001, the tribune from which the president spoke was also moved to a safer area.
It should be recalled that 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking at a university in Orem city, Utah state, on September 10. Kirk was one of Trump’s most active supporters.
