The freezing of relations between Armenia and the CSTO means, among other things, the absence of an Armenian permanent representative to the CSTO, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said, answering a question from an opposition deputy during parliamentary hour, Report informs referring to TASS.
“The freezing of relations with the CSTO means that Armenia does not have a permanent representative to the CSTO and does not participate in events at a high and senior level. We have still not received an answer from the organization to the question of what is the CSTO’s area of responsibility in Armenia. The lack of an answer creates a threat to the security and territorial integrity of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
Armenia will legally freeze its membership in the CSTO if the organization does not fulfill its obligations, the prime minister noted.
“If we have now de facto frozen our activities, then if the issues are not resolved, we will do it de jure, but what’s left for us to do?” said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia.
