Türkiye is ready to once again provide a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a video message to the participants of the Ukraine-Southeastern Europe summit held in Albania, Report informs referring to TASS.
“We fundamentally support the peace plan proposed by [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy. But I am convinced that a necessary condition for the success of peace initiatives in Ukraine is the participation of both sides [Russia and Ukraine] in the negotiations. We are ready to again provide a table for negotiations, which have previously taken place in Istanbul,” he said. The video message was released by the administration of the Turkish leader.
“I am of the opinion that diplomacy and dialogue must be given a chance to end the war by achieving a just and lasting peace. I believe that it is necessary to begin joint efforts to at least determine the general parameters of peace,” Erdogan added.
