The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MFA) has issued a statement on the final observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) over the tenth to twelfth periodic reports of Azerbaijan.
The statement says:
“The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan took part in the recent session of the Committee on the CERD and submitted to the Committee its reports on the tenth to twelfth periodic reports in accordance with the Convention. As a country of many different ethnic, cultural and religious groups, Azerbaijan is fully committed to fulfilling its obligations under the CERD, which promotes the same multicultural values.
“As noted in the latest concluding observations of the Committee on Azerbaijan’s reports, Azerbaijan has taken positive steps towards achieving the goal of CERD to eradicate all forms of racial discrimination.
“Azerbaijan appreciates the constructive dialogue with the CERD Committee and accordingly takes into account the opinions and recommendations of the Committee. Azerbaijan is committed to upholding the rights and dignity of every person living on its territory and will continue its activities to achieve the ultimate goal – the eradication of all forms and manifestations of racial discrimination on a global scale.”
