Pashinyan announced the launch of the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway operation

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway has started operating.

Medianews.az reports that Pashinyan wrote about this on his "Facebook" social media account.

"I am glad to announce that the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway, as well as the Azerbaijani railway, are now open for export and import to Armenia. This is a major event in the economic life of our country. I thank our partners from Turkey and Georgia," Pashinyan wrote.

He stated that currently Armenia has railway connections with Russia through the territories of Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as with China through Russia and Kazakhstan. Now, in addition to these directions, the route passing through Georgia and Turkey, which ensures connection with the European Union, has also been connected.

Furthermore, the head of government noted that the direct railway connection between Armenia and Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and later between Armenia and Iran via Nakhchivan is expected to be launched soon.

"As a result of the implementation of the TRIPP project, in the near future we will witness these events," Pashinyan emphasized./Report
