The trial in Iran regarding the downing of a Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) airliner over Tehran in January 2020 has concluded, APA reports citing ISNA.
In the case of the downed Ukrainian airliner in Iran, the main defendant was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Reported that the verdict in the case of the Ukrainian plane crash was made after a three-year investigation and 20 court hearings.
Note that on January 8, 2020, the Ukrainian plane crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran airport to fly to Kyiv. As a result, 176 people died. Afghans, British citizens, Germans, Iranians, Canadians, Ukrainians, and Swedes were among them.
