Latvia has announced plans to construct a new 64-kilometer stretch of fence along its border with Belarus starting in April, APA reports citing Kyiv Independent.
The decision to put the border up was made in 2016 to curb illegal migration, with just under one-third of the projected fence length built so far.
“We can already see the real results of the work done, which allows us to start building without unreasonable delay,” Chairman of the Board of the State Real Estate Renars Griskevics was quoted as saying.
