“These horrific drone attacks underscore the urgency of increased support for Ukraine,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, noting that all signs point to Iran supplying Russia with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for use in Ukraine.
Medianews.az informs that Stoltenberg answered journalists’ questions at a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the NATO headquarters.
Asked about the use of Iranian-made drones in the war in Ukraine, Stoltenberg said, “I won’t go into the details of our intelligence, but I can say that every indicator points to Iran supplying these drones to Russia.”
“We call on all countries, including Iran, not to support Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.
Stating that member states such as Germany, USA, Holland and France are in the process of delivering more and advanced air defense systems to Ukraine, Stoltenberg said, “The terrible attacks of these UAVs emphasize the urgency of increasing support to Ukraine.”
