Four cargo ships carrying 140 thousand tons of grain departed from Ukrainian ports on Sunday to deliver food to Asia, Africa and Europe, the country’s infrastructure ministry announced, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Over 1.1 million metric tons of grain have already left Ukrainian ports to Africa alone since Kiev and Moscow finalized the deal to lift the blockade installed in the Black Sea in February.
The UN-backed agreement expires next month and it is unclear whether Moscow will agree to extend it as it claims the shipments were not sent to low-income nations.
