Twitter Inc. confirmed on Thursday it has been deleting more than 1 million spam accounts per day on its platform as part of its fight against automated bots ahead of a planned takeover by billionaire Elon Musk, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The company’s executives insisted that the number of spam bots on its platform is “well under” the 5% mark that has been required by Elon Musk in order for the agreement to be finalized.
Under the $44 billion deal, Twitter accepted last month to provide Musk with the “fire hose” data that consists of the global string of all tweets posted on the social media service.
