Norway will donate 570 million Norwegian kroner (48.28 million euros) to the International Fund for Ukraine. The funds will be used to purchase drones and air defense systems for Ukrainian soldiers, according to the press service of the Norwegian government, report informs via RBC Ukraine.
Ukraine will receive additional drones to aid in the fight against Russian forces, as well as more air defense systems to protect the Ukrainian population and critical infrastructure from Russian attacks.
“Ukraine has an urgent need for more military equipment to protect itself against the Russian war of aggression. Together with other countries, Norway will do what we can to contribute,” Bjørn Arild Gram said.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Norway has contributed 1.8 billion Norwegian kroner (about 160 million euros). The purpose of the fund is to purchase weapons from the industry for further transfer to Ukraine.
