Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia left Rustaveli avenue near the parliament, Report informs.
Those who objected to the law ‘on foreign agents’ were allowed to return to the legislative building.
The police officers closed Rustaveli Avenue for several hours. After some of the protesters damaged the iron fence in front of the parliament building and tried to enter its courtyard, the security forces removed the protesters from the parliament. Several people were even arrested.
According to the information, after the number of demonstrators decreased, the Ministry of Interior decided to allow the remaining protesters to return to the parliament and continue the action.
Protesters also took place on April 9 and Chichinadze streets leading to the service entrances of the parliament. Currently, the situation in front of the parliament is calm.
